The Client's Problem
An independent media company created a hit show and drew a large audience, but couldn’t find a path to monetize their success. The cost of producing and distributing the program was growing, but they had very little revenue to support that growth.
Our Approach
We did a deep dive into their audience cohorts, analyzed the most successful media properties that shared their brand space and/or distribution channels, and conducted audience research using analytics, focus groups, and interviews.
Using these learnings as a guide, we devised a strategy for success. First, we created an audience membership program that included private events and additional programming from the on-air talent. Next, we created a series of ticketed events and conferences to create high-margin revenue to fund growth. We use the success of these projects to go to sponsors and partners who wanted to reach the audience cohorts, and would pay a premium to do so.
Successful Results
The results took the company to six digits a month in revenue, expanded the size and reach of the media, and set the company up for a sustainable, independent financial model.
